Order Policies & Conditions

Preparing and Submitting Your Order
For all orders (Internet, phone, fax, email, or mail), please include each item’s catalog number, brief description, quantity, size, etc.  To facilitate accurate order entry, in some instances we may require a signed Purchase Order from an authorized agent of your firm before we process your order.  Please check each order carefully:  FOR ITEMS PACKAGED IN BULK, the quantity you order represents the number of packs or cases you are buying!

Payment Terms
By entering your order with Science Projects, you agree to pay per the terms we approve for you (typically, 1% 10, Net 30, FOB Shipping Point).  Please pay promptly to ensure that we RECEIVE your payment within the applicable term period.  Per standard convention, the INVOICE DATE is determined by the SHIP DATE.  For Net 30 accounts, unpaid invoices become Past Due 31 days after your order is shipped.  A 1.5% interest charge will be added each month to any past-due balances, and delinquent accounts may be reported to applicable credit agencies (D&B, etc.).  A $35 charge will be assessed for each check returned due to insufficient funds or for any other reason.  Other fees will be assessed for additional expenses incurred as a result of any NSF check, and other payment arrangements may be required for future orders.   By entering your order, customer agrees to pay any and all expenses incurred by Science Projects for actions required to collect full payment of your account.

Purchase Discounts, for Credit Purchases on Open Account
to receive any applicable discounts, the total amount of the order (less ANY APPROVED discountS) must be paid within the APPLICABLE Term period OR DISCOUNT PERIOD.  Applicable discounts include ‘term’ discounts (e.g., 1% 10 days), percentage discounts (e.g., ‘quantity’ discounts, etc.), coupons, and other designated discounts.  If the total order is not paid within the applicable term period or discount period, no discount may be taken.

Small Orders
Orders under $250 may be subject to a small-order processing fee of up to $25, plus applicable Shipping & Handling fees.  Actual charges will vary.

Chemical Orders
Due to regulatory requirements, you must have an open account with us to purchase chemicals.  For certain chemicals, required hazardous shipping fees may apply.

Warranty Information
Science Projects warrants to the direct purchaser that the representations made in the manufacturer’s catalog accurately reflect the manufacturer’s and supplier’s representations to Science Projects.  To the extent permissible, Science Projects will make available to the direct purchaser the manufacturer’s warranty available to Science Projects, without recourse against Science Projects.  Science Projects makes no warranty and shall have no obligation with respect to expendable or consumable parts and supplies, nor with respect to damage caused by or resulting from accident, misuse, neglect or unauthorized installation, alteration or repairs to the products.  Science Projects’ sole responsibility and the purchaser’s exclusive remedy for any claim arising out of any purchase is: repair or replacement of the purchased product, or a purchase credit, if applicable.  In no event shall the cost of the exclusive remedy exceed the purchase price; and in no event shall Science Projects be liable for any special, indirect, incidental, consequential, or exemplary damages, howsoever arising, even if Science Projects has been advised of the possibility of such damages.  Product photographs are often generic, and it is possible that photographs shown with some items may depict a different model.  In each instance, the supplier's catalog description for each item will apply.  If typographical or pricing errors exist on our web site or in other pricing media, Science Projects reserves the right to correct such errors at any time, whether before or after an order is entered.  (If we discover a pricing error AFTER receiving your order, when feasible we will attempt to notify you of any price change BEFORE processing your order.)  Chemical products are warranted to conform to the specifications appearing in the supplying manufacturer’s catalog. Science Projects expressly disclaims all other warranties, express or implied, including the implied warranty of the merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. 

Returned Goods Policy

Procedure

• Before returning any item, call 817-453-5555 to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number.

• Write the RMA number on all shipping labels and correspondence about the shipment.  Do not write on cartons.  Returns made without an RMA number will be returned collect to you.

• Be sure to follow the exact shipping instructions provided with your RMA and be sure to address the shipment to the complete street address provided with your RMA.  Shippers will not deliver to post office box numbers.

Time Limit

• Any request for return authorization must be initiated by customer and received by Science Projects within 10 days of receipt of merchandise (i.e., date of delivery).

• After you have requested a return authorization and an RMA number has been issued to you, the merchandise must be returned (received by manufacturer) within 10 days of issuance of the RMA number.  Unless otherwise notified, you will need to prepay the return shipping costs;  CODs will not be accepted. 

• NO Credit MAY BE RECEIVED without OUR AUTHORIZED RMA number.

Return of hazardous materials

• Return shipments of hazardous materials must be packed, marked, labeled, and shipped in accordance with DOT regulations governing transportation of hazardous materials and any other applicable requirements.

Returns that may be acceptable for full credit:

• Products not supplied in accordance with your orders;

• Products that are defective at the time you receive them.

 Returns that may be acceptable for partial credit:

• Products ordered in error and not identified below as unacceptable for credit (partial-credit returns, if returned in accordance with this returned goods policy, are subject to a restocking charge, which is often determined by the manufacturer and which can vary from 15% to 35%, or more).

 Returns not acceptable for credit:

• Discontinued products;

• Products that have been personalized, customized, altered, or damaged by customer;

• Items supplied to the customer as an accommodation, including, without limitation, third-party purchases;

• Items not purchased from Science Projects;

• Refrigerated or temperature-controlled products;

• Products that are outdated, shelf-worn, used, damaged, or are otherwise unsuitable for return to stock and resale as new;

• Reagents, diagnostics, or chemicals that have been opened;

• Broken thermometers or any materials containing free mercury.  (Note: Science Projects cannot arrange for the treatment or disposal of mercury.)

Freight Claim Policy
We take great care in packing your order; however, occasional damages or shortages are unavoidable.  As soon as you receive a Science Projects shipment, carefully unpack and inspect it.  If you find damages or shortages:

• Do not accept the shipment until the carrier’s driver makes a damage notation on your delivery receipt or freight bill;

• Immediately request that the carrier’s inspector make an inspection.  If the inspector does not comply with your request, prepare an affidavit that you notified the carrier’s inspector on a certain date and the inspector failed to make the inspection;

•  Keep all containers and packing material for the inspection.

• If you later discover concealed damage, you must request an inspection within 5 days of delivery.
